An employee of Washington Gas Light (WGL) since 2002, Daminique Branch represents the company in her capacity as Community Involvement, Outreach Specialist. In this role, she is responsible for providing a comprehensive community involvement strategy while promoting WGL as an organization that cares about the issues facing the communities they serve and is willing to invest its time and treasure in addressing those issues.
Since joining the company, she served as Vice Chair of the WGL Employee Volunteer Fall Community Service Team in 2010. During this time, she helped to lead 17 projects with various local non-profit organizations and recorded the team spending over 3,000 hours volunteering and giving back to the community. Ms. Branch stepped up and served as Chair of that same team, in 2011.
With the success of her chairmanship in 2011, she was then promoted and asked to lead and coordinate the company’s employee volunteer program. To date, the program continues to be a huge success, garnering over 12,000 volunteer hours each year.
Ms. Branch also became a part of the Leadership Prince George’s (LPG) program – Class 26 in 2011 and graduated in 2012. Currently, she sits on the Community Outreach committee of LPG.
During her personal time, she served as Vice-President for the Swann Hill Condominium Homeowners Association Board of Directors, from 2006-2011. She displayed great leadership when tasked with projects that involved keeping homeowners informed with various Prince George’s County pet and parking rules and regulations. Helping the community continues to be a passion of hers and she plans to stay involved so that she can make a difference in her community.
Ms. Branch is a fourth generation Washingtonian. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson Senior High School in The District of Columbia. She and her daughter moved to Prince George’s County in 1997 and currently reside in Suitland, MD.
