Chris Lawson is President Broker and Insurance Advisor of Insuraty Inc., an employee benefits brokerage servicing mid-sized companies and organizations in the area of employee benefits consulting, brokerage and administration including retirement plan advisory, administration, and human resources management. Lawson comes from Raleigh NC, where he studied Business Administration at Saint Augustine’s College before moving to the Washington metropolitan area and starting his business career representing corporations such as American Express Corporate Services and Cigna Healthcare in sales, business development, and management.

During his business career, he has been honored on numerous occasions by Guardian Life Insurance Company, Gold Producers Award, American Express, Presidents Club, Top District Award and Peak Performance Award and Allianz Life Insurance Company, Gold Masters Club Award. Lawson has been featured in the Gazette of Politics and Business, Pride of Prince George’s County business owners and the Prince George’s Suite Magazine for his business accomplishments and community service. He served on the Board of Directors for the Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce and was presented with the distinguished service award in 2006. Lawson was an original member of the Washington DC area Board of Directors for the National Association of African American Insurance Agents in the capacity of Vice President. He is a current member of the American College of Financial Services and the Society for Human Resource Management.
Lawson is a resident of Prince George’s County Maryland for 25 years. He is no stranger to community service. He was appointed to the WSSC (Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission) by Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III in 2011. He currently holds the position of Commission Vice Chairman, Board Member of the Employees Retirement and Pension Plan and previously served as Commission Chairman.
Lawson currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Path To Greatness a not for profit organization inspiring volunteerism and philanthropy of ordinary people helping homeless families, veterans and the most common and immediate concerns for humans in immediate need.
Lawson has also led the movement for student athletes throughout the DMV as CEO of DMVelite, former South Bowie Boys and Girls Club President & Boys Varsity Assistant Coach at Bowie High School. He was also awarded the Prince Georges County Boys and Girls Club Inc. Man of the year award in 2011.
