President
2014 – present

​Elected to serve as President/CEO representing over 20,000 active and retired law enforcement officers throughout the State of Maryland.  Responsible for the management of the organization’s operating budget and overseeing approximately $2 million in assets of the organization.  Coordinates legislative agenda on local, state, and national level for organization.  Member of the Maryland Police and Correctional Officers Training Commission (MPCTC).

Trustee
2008 – present

​Trustee on the Police Pension Plan and responsible for management and control of over $600 million in assets.  Served in this capacity while President of the FOP.

President
2008 – 2013

Elected for three (3) terms as President/CEO representing over 2,600 active and retired law enforcement officers.  Served as Chief Labor Negotiator collectively bargaining multi-million dollar contracts on behalf of the membership, managed the organization’s operating budget, and oversaw over $1 million in assets.  Member of the Medical Advisory and Disability Review Board.  Elected and served as FOP Lodge 89 1st Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Shop Steward for the Criminal Investigations Unit.

Prince George’s County Police Department, Criminal Investigations Division – Landover, Maryland
Homicide Detective
1996 – 2005

​Investigated crimes against persons; specifically, homicides, suicides, suspicious deaths, accidental deaths, police involved shootings, missing persons when death is suspected, and serious physical assaults at the Prince George’s County Detention Center. Presented cases to grand juries and testified in state and federal courts.  Repeated invited speaker at the Judicial Institute of Maryland for trial and appellate court judges.

Child Abuse Detective
1995 – 1996

Investigated allegations of physical and sexual child abuse and vulnerable adult abuse.  Worked closely with the Department of Social Services.  Provided training and instruction for recruit classes, citizen organizations, and grand juries.  Testified in state and federal courts.

United States Air Force, Osan Air Base, South Korea
Law Enforcement Specialist
1989 – 1991

​Controlled four law enforcement patrols and one military working canine unit in support of law enforcement operations.  Monitored Security Police communications center which monitored weapons, munitions, drug and classified materials on installation.  Conducted background checks of new personnel and provided them with proper security credentials for installation.

Honor Guardsman
1986 – 1992

Served as ceremonial guardsman for the United States Air Force.  Represented members of the United States Air Force at numerous Presidential ceremonies in the District of Columbia and throughout the country.  Also performed duties in Joint Service Military ceremonies throughout the country.
